ラ カステッラーダ / フリウラーノ2018
La Castellada / Friulano 2018
オレンジワインの聖地、イタリアはフリウリ・ヴェネツィア・ジューリアのワインです。生産者は、ラ・カスッテラーダと言って、ここのオレンジは初めて飲みます。
This wine comes from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy—the heartland of orange wine. It’s produced by La Castellada; this is my first time trying an orange wine from them.
木桶にて4日間の皮や種ごとの醗酵、圧搾後大樽で11か月間醗酵と熟成。ステンレスタンクにて12か月間熟成後ノンフィルターでボトリング。瓶詰後12か月の熟成を経てリリースだそうです。
The grapes—skins, seeds, and all—are fermented in wooden vats for four days. After pressing, the wine undergoes further fermentation and aging in large casks for 11 months. It’s then aged for another 12 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled unfiltered. It’s released only after an additional 12 months of bottle aging.
少しマセレーションの期間が短いのでかなりスッキリした味わいのオレンジなのかなぁと、余計なことを考えずに早速飲みましょう！
Since the maceration period is a little short, I imagine this orange juice will have a very clean taste. Let’s just drink it without overthinking it!
ブドウはフリウラーノという品種で、白ワインの上品な香りがします。
The grape variety is Friulano, which gives off the elegant aromatics typical of a fine white wine.
オレンジというより少し濃いめのイエローです。ノンフィルターで瓶詰めですが、かなり透明度が高いです。
The color is more of a deep yellow than a true “orange.” Despite being bottled unfiltered, it’s remarkably clear.
う～ん。上品な白ワインという感じです。やはり、マセレーションが短いのがワインの味わいに現れています。でも、すこぶる美味しいです。
Hmm… it really feels like an elegant white wine. The short maceration period definitely shows through in the flavor profile. That said, it is absolutely delicious.
